Housing Secretary Ho Wing-yin revealed on Commercial Radio’s “Political and Economic Saturday” yesterday that expanding the minimal public housing joint venture model to newly built conventional public housing estates could be considered, for example by incorporating clauses in property management contracts that encourage collaboration with NGOs in providing services and facilities. In response to inquiries, Pan Jianliang, chairman of the Property Services Companies Association, stated that the association had previously exchanged preliminary views with Ho Wing-yin and believed that a pilot program could be implemented in Zhongxiao Village, arguing that operating costs would not necessarily increase.
